If you’re into costume design, fashion, film history or just like a good exhibition, the Edith Head exhibition at the Bendigo Art Gallery is a must.
Edith Head had an expansive Hollywood career in costume design, from 1927 to 1981. She was nominated for 35 oscars and won eight. Designing costumes for such films as a The Ten Commandments, Funny Face, Samson and Delilah, Sunset Boulevard, Vertigo, Sabrina and To Catch a Thief.
The exhibition offers a collection of seventy costumes design by Head from the 1930s to the 1960s including tailored suits, day wear, glamorous evening gowns and period costumes.
It’s in it’s final days, so you’ll need to get there this weekend.
