Costumes, gumboots and dust floating in the air. Well, some years there is just dust and others there is pouring rain, but no weather condition is able to dampen the spirits of the eager festival-goers excited to see their favourite bands play.
This years Groovin the Moo festival in Bendigo was a spectacular event to attend. There were super happy people singing along to some great bands, while others were chowing down on some incredible local food. Whether dancing, singing, eating or hanging with friends, it was good times.
Two main outdoor stages, the Moolin Rouge tent and The Plot dance stage featured some fantastic artists. International acts that graced our local stages this year; Peaches, A$AP FERG, You Me at Six and Charli XCX along with some our best local acts Hilltop Hoods, Wolfmother, Hermitude, The Preatures, Ball Park Music, Flight Facilities (and many more) all got the crowds on their feet.
Highlights for the day include A$AP FERG’s energetic performance that sent the crowd crazy (in the photographers pit we were told A$AP can go crazy so they might need to pull us out, I know, cool right?).
You Me at Six had the girls at the front singing along and swooning over Josh Franceschi’s good looks and sexy voice. Ball Park Music had a spectacular visual display backing up their catchy tunes and skillful playing.
Peaches, known for her colourful sets, both visually and lyrically, did not disappoint. With her androgynous dancing unicorns she painted a triptych of a brightly coloured sexual sci-fi version of a distant future. The smoke and light show adding to the intensity bursting the seams of the Moolin Rouge tent.
It was a fab day with a stellar lineup. Thanks to the artists and the whole Groovin the Moo crew for putting on an amazing festival. Enjoy the photos!
